The River Hogs are a bandit clan featured in RAGE 2. The River Hogs were formed during a time of great conflict between the Scorchers and Jackals. After a bloody war that claimed many on both sides, a truce and eventual alliance arose to fend off the rising mutant threat.

They control the Wasteland's swamps, and are known for their piracy and plunder. They're adorned with horns plucked from their hunts.

History

River Hogs were born out of the merger between the Scorchers and Jackals. Despite having been allies during the Authority Wars, the Scorchers and the Jackals fought each other bitterly during the infamous post-war conflict known as the Western Derby. This blood feud continued for years. Meanwhile, the ECOpods had transformed the Wasteland and created the vast Sekreto Wetlands. During the Abadon Mutie Uprising, the two diminished gangs took refuge from the fighting in the Wetlands, joining forces for survival, and thus the River Hogs were born.

They've recently expanded beyond the borders of the Sekreto Wetlands and moved into other territories, especially the dense forests of the northern Wilds, where their skills as hunters make them fierce competition. Instead of using convoys, they use Hover Boats and Monster Trucks with smaller crews to transport goods in order to mitigate losing a large haul.

Organization

Surprisingly resourceful and cantankerous, many have underestimated River Hogs as backwater idiots only to be ambushed by the cunning bandits with sophisticated and lethal gear. Some wield giant shields and wear makeshift armor created from odds, ends, and junk scattered around. They're also capable engineers who've created their trucks, boats, and the lethal Junk Mek, a massive, heavily armored exosuit with numerous dangerous armaments, like flamethrowers, rocket launchers and heavy machine guns piloted by the more diminutive members. Much of the weapons they use is Old World and make use of molotovs. Some units will occasionally pull out a machete and charge you.

Carefree and debauched, River Hogs live by a simple creed: take what you want and live life to the its fullest, basically meaning sex, food, booze, music and thrills. Most members are adorned in crude NSFW tattoos all over their bodies.
